50K challenge
We started the day with a small breakfast at the cottages. After breakfast, we walked to the university because it was on the same campus where we were staying. Once we sat down with our group and decided what to do, we had a big breakfast.
Then we received the final explanation about the 50K Challenge, in which we had to try to make a profit using 50,000 shillings. My group decided to make Belgian pancakes and sell them for 1,000 shillings each. By the end of the day, we made a profit of 61,000 shillings. We sold our pancakes to doctors, teachers, and other students.
In the evening, we went to the teachers’ hotel and went swimming there. After a long swim and playing teamball with some locals, we went to grab a bite at a nearby restaurant.
When we finally arrived back at the cottages, we noticed that we didn’t have electricity anymore. This happened because they forgot to pay for more electricity for us. So we ended the day in the dark.
